SANDWICH – Sandwich Firefighters were called to battle a brush fire. The fire broke out between Chandler Road and Tarragon Drive sometime around 4 PM Monday afternoon. Smoke was reportedly drifting across Route 6 for a time slowing traffic. Firefighters worked quickly to protect homes in the area. Mass Department of Conservation and Recreation fire personnel were assisting at the scene. No injuries were reported. About a half acre was scorched by the fire.
