Congratulations to Gavin Strand, he will receive $100 thanks to First Citizens’ Federal Credit Union for being selected as our February 2024 Athlete of the Month!
His nominator had this to say about him: Gavin is an all around wonderful kid. He is smart, funny & kind. He was diagnosed with leukemia when he was one. He is now twelve and a cancer survivor and every October he walks in the Jimmy Fund Walk – raising important funds for other children fighting cancer. Gavin has been on the honor roll all of middle school and plays baseball for The Dugout Dawgs. Over the summer, his little league team came in second place in the entire state of MA. When he isn’t playing basevall he is umpiring a game. He is an altar server at Our Lady of Victory where he also is part of the youth group. Through the youth group he has helped his community in many ways – feeding the homeless, clothing drives, farm clean ups and in April he is heading to Puerto Rico to help with hurricane relief. Gavin is a hard worker in school, on the field and in his community.
