Entertainment Cinemas: An Affordable Theater Chain

Entertainment Cinemas and its Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard locations continues to be a quality spot for first-run movies and art house favorites.

Their three Cape Cod locations offer affordability and variety – valuable assets for a region lacking in movie theaters.

Entertainment Cinemas’ Locations

The flagship Entertainment Cinemas is located at Patriot Plaza on Enterprise Road, South Dennis. But moviegoers on Martha’s Vineyard can visit one at 65 Main Street, Edgartown. Upper Cape cinematics can try the Falmouth Cinema Pub, owned by Entertainment Cinemas, at 137 Teaticket Hwy, Falmouth.

As is expected, the island location offers fewer screens and focuses primarily on the blockbusters, while the Falmouth theatre harbors an extra screen and offers their patrons drinks with their movies.

Prices at Entertainment Cinemas

This theatre’s prices are competitive as compared with larger chains. While prices are subject to change, a family of four can count on spending around $40 for admission, or closer to $50 for a 3-D picture. Single tickets average around $10.75 for adults and $8.75 for kids.

Matinee shows, everything before 6 p.m., are only $8.75 for all, and $11.75 for 3D films.

Typically, prices are a few cents cheaper at the Falmouth branch, and about the same on Martha’s Vineyard.

Entertainment Cinemas’ Features

South Dennis has highback rocker chairs for a cushy viewing experience, paired with plush upholstery and standard drink holders. Multi-station confession stands ensure no matter which end of the theater your screening is in, you won’t have to go far between the previews to snag last minute snacks. This is the largest theatre of the three, with 10 screening rooms ranging from 84 to 206 seats each. Four of them are the classic aisle layout with the exit aisle in the middle, while the rest of them have shiny new “stadium” seats, with aisles on the sides. If you have a few spare minutes before the flick, try out their range of contemporary and classic arcade games. They have a rotating set of them, ranging from Galaga to Ms. PacMan.

The Falmouth Cinema Pub is the most distinguished of the three, allowing the sale and consumption of alcohol on the premises. Rather than traditional rows of long-backed red chairs, the screening rooms here are lined with diner-like tables, on which you can enjoy a variety of libations. Falmouth’s has 4 screening rooms with a total of 325 seats.

The Edgartown Entertainment Cinemas offers theatre rentals for large groups and parties, “first-run” movie screenings, same-day advanced ticket purchasing, and hearing-impaired headsets. This is the smallest of the Entertainment Cinemas locations, with 2 screening rooms at 132 and 202 seats, respectively.
