HYANNIS–The administration of Governor Charlie Baker and Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito announced last week that Skills Capital Grants would be awarded to 45 schools around the state, totaling $12 million.
The aim for these grants is to acquire new technologies and expand career opportunities.
Barnstable High School is receiving $250,000 to create the Environmental Science and Technology Pathway, allowing students to gain credentials in this industry.
Cape Cod Community College (CCCC) was granted $310,000 for engineering prototyping and a training center for electromechanical devices.
$250,000 was provided to Mashpee Public Schools for an advanced manufacturing lab. Mashpee High partnered with CCCC for an Innovation Pathway in manufacturing, and the high school will also provide after-school and summer STEM experiences to students in kindergarten through 8th grade.
Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical High School received $260,000 for a marine services technician program.
