HYANNIS – Barnstable Town Council is expected to approve two appropriations Thursday that will put the Barnstable Land Trust within $400,000 of their goal to raise $1.8 million to preserve Lowell Park in Cotuit.

Currently, plans call for a development of nine residential house lots on the 19 acres of forest surrounding the baseball field.

Town Council will be holding a public hearing at town hall at 7 p.m., with a vote expected afterwards.
