Cape Symphony & Conservatory Hosting Concert for Young People

HYANNIS – The Cape Symphony and Conservatory is holding its annual, exclusive concert for elementary students from across the Cape.

The goal of the concert is to give students a positive and memorable experience with a live concert performance, as well as show that art can be experienced as well as created.

The concert will present Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 6 (Pastoral)”, and will also feature artwork inspired by the piece that was created by the students.

The artwork will be displayed on screens above the orchestra during the performance.

Students will also get the opportunity to see a ballet production of Sergei Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf”, featuring the Conservatory Ballet and original choreography by Artistic Director Jane Caputo.

The program will be led by Artistic Director and Conductor Jung-Ho Pak, and will also feature narration by Jeffrey Clonts.

The Young People’s Concert will be a private showing for 20 schools and four special-needs centers.

The K-4 students will get the chance to attend one of two showings at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, November 6.
