Habitat for Humanity to Host Kickoff for Two Wellfleet Homes

WELLFLEET – Habitat for Humanity Cape Cod will be hosting an event at the Wellfleet Preservation Hall on August 19 to celebrate two Wellfleet homes being purchased by families.

The families will also be helping to construct the homes alongside Habitat for Humanity.

Habitat Executive Director Vicki Goldsmith said that this is the start of a rewarding experience for all involved.

“It’s really just such a life changing opportunity, both at the kickoff celebration and also when we do the wall raising. People who come will have the opportunity to hear about that directly from the people who will be building their homes with us,” Goldsmith said.

The event runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Goldsmith also said that this is a great opportunity for others to become a part of the organization.

“We’re very much welcoming of new volunteers,” Goldsmith said.

“And we’ll let people know how to get involved, how to sign up, and what to expect when they come to the work site for the first time.”

Refreshments will be served, and public parking is available on the street of the hall, the hall’s parking lot, and behind Town Hall. Email Volunteer Services Manager Tara Cronin at [email protected] for more information or to find out how to volunteer.
