Harwich Golf Director Resigns Amid Investigation

GolfClubBallHARWICH – The director of the Cranberry Valley Golf Course has resigned amid an investigation by Harwich officials into an unspecified personnel matter.

The golf course is owned by the Town of Harwich.

Dennis Hoye was placed on administrative leave last month. Town officials say they cannot comment on the nature of those investigations, but they say the investigations do not involve criminal violations.

Head golf pro Joe McNulty was also placed on leave last month. He is still on leave and remains under investigation. “We’ve had meetings with him and his attorney and we’re still not at the end of it,” said Assistant Town Administrator Julie Quintero-Schulz.

Officials hope to replace Hoye by mid-February with the upcoming golf season just a few months away. Quintero-Schulz is serving as acting golf director until that point.

“We want somebody who can come in and look to see what we’ve done so far and look to see where we can make improvements and obviously have that knowledge to do so,” Quintero-Schulz added.

The PGA will be assisting the town in their search.
