Nor’Easter Brings Heavy Rain, Strong Winds to Cape

Radar images from the National Weather Service showed heavy rain across the region early Tuesday morning.

BARNSTABLE – A nor’easter brought powerful wind gusts and heavy rain to Cape Cod Tuesday morning.

The storm brought some alterations to travel across the region. Late Tuesday morning, Rectrix Aviation grounded flights to and from Hyannis due to fog. An official with Rectrix says all Tuesday flights have been canceled. A normal flight schedule resumes Wednesday.

Some early morning Nantucket ferry runs were also cancelled.

A coastal flood advisory is in effect until noon. A 59 mph wind gust was reported in Wellfleet Monday night. The Provincetown Airport reported a 51 mph gust just after 2 a.m. Tuesday.

There were reports of downed tree limbs on various roads across the region. There was also a report of downed power lines in Falmouth overnight.

Only scattered outages were reported on Cape Cod during the storm.
