HARWICH – At about 10:10 AM, Harwich Fire-Rescue and Police responded to the area of 82 Queen Anne Road in Harwich for a report of two-vehicle crash involving a trash truck, with unknown injuries. Upon arrival crews encountered a Chase & Merchantmedium duty trash compacter truck and a Ford F-350 pickup hauling a trailer had collided. The trash truck was off the side of the road and the pickup and trailer were in the travel portion of the roadway. Both operators were out of the vehicles and walking around the scene. One of the operators was evaluated by Medics but all declined to go to the hospital. There was a fluid leak from the trash truck that firefighters worked to contain and DEP was notified of the spill. Traffic was reduced to one alternating lane in the area of the accident and the crash is under investigation of the Harwich Police.
