Busy Paving Season in Falmouth is Underway

FALMOUTH – From May-to-October, the Falmouth Department of Public Works will complete a laundry list of roadwork projects that will encompass nearly 22,000 feet of town roads.

Work will take place on major and minor roadways, as well as parking lots at three town schools, East and West Falmouth Libraries, and Nobska Lighthouse.

The $2 million in work will also include drainage and aesthetic improvements. The work is being funded through Chapter 90 and capital improvement funds that were approved by Town Meeting in November.

Despite more than a dozen projects on the docket, the work is expected to flow smoothly.

“Once this starts happening, they’re going to start bang, bang, bang,” said Peter McConarty, DPW Director. “We’ll be able to go right through them so it’s going to be a busy year for paving in Falmouth.
