Centerville Native Helps UConn Reach Historic Milestone

DALLAS – A former star athlete in Barnstable was a part of college basketball history Saturday.

Centerville native Molly Bent helped the UConn women’s basketball team win its 91st straight game, breaking the school’s own record.

Bent, a freshman guard, played 18 minutes and had 3 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal in the 88-48 win at Southern Methodist University.

She played for three years at Barnstable High School starting in eighth grade before transferring to Tabor Academy in Marion. Bent is also a former Barnstable Recreation basketball player.
