WELLFLEET – Wellfleet Police report that on Monday at approximately 10:00 PM, they were dispatched to Fred Bell Way to investigate an assault and battery. Upon the arrival of the officers they meet up with a 44-year-old white male with injuries consistent with an assault and battery. Wellfleet Rescue Squad arrived on location and treated the victim and transported him to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
During the initial investigation, officers learned that the assault and battery occurred on Pine Point Road. Officers are following up on some initial leads and identified individuals who may be involved or witnessed the event. At this time, police do not believe this to be a random event and those involved have a connection with each other.
