Cape & Islands DA Praises Baker Choice for New Chief Medical Examiner

BOSTON – Governor Charlie Baker announced the appointment Dr. Mindy Hull as Chief Medical Examiner and won praise from Cape & Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe.

Hull has worked in the office since 2007, and replaces Dr. Henry Nields, who served as chief since 2008.

Hull earned her undergraduate degree in Natural Science and Mathematics from Bradford College, before receiving her M.D. at SUNY Upstate Medical University.

“I am pleased with the governor’s appointment of Dr. Mindy Hull…as a member of the Medico-Legal Commission and as a district attorney, I have come to know Dr. Hull and I have great respect for her dedication to the office and her work ethic,” said O’Keefe.

“I am confident that understands the challenges of this important position and together with the Baker-Polito Administration will continue to move the offcie forward,” O’Keefe said.

“The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office serves a critical role in administering justice across the Commonwealth and Dr. Hull has the professional experience necessary to lead the dedicated and talented OCME team,” Baker said.
