2018 ArtWeek Festival Seeking Applicants

CAPE COD – The Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce has been named as a collaborating partner for the upcoming 2018 ArtWeek Festival.

The award-winning innovative festival takes place across the commonwealth and features hundreds of unique and creative experiences that are hands-on, interactive or offer behind-the-scenes access to arts, culture, and the creative process.

“Art week is something that started in Boston,” said chamber CEO Wendy Northcross, “and it’s been such a big hit and such a drive for a new audiences and new patrons that we’re trying to grow this on Cape Cod.”

Now in its fourth year, Artweek organizers are inviting interested participants to submit applications to take part in the year’s events, scheduled for April 27th through May 6th.

The early bird deadline to submit an ArtWeek event is January 8; the final deadline is February 28.

Hundreds of creative events are expected to be featured throughout the 10-day festival, with the Cape chamber taking a lead role in assembling local and regional collaborators.

“We are excited about helping ArtWeek expand,” said Northcross, “This is a terrific opportunity to spotlight our creative Commonwealth, and the unique arts, cultural and creative events happening right here on Cape Cod.”

Festival officials highlight that the program makes artistic experiences affordable, with more than 60% of the creative ArtWeek experiences are free and more than 90% are available for less than $25.

“It is an award winning festival,” said Northcross, “It is very innovative, it features hundreds of unique and creative experiences that are either hands on, interactive, or behind the scenes access to arts, culture, and the creative process.”
