Pilgrim is Back on the Grid, Generating Electricity

power plantPLYMOUTH – The Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in Plymouth is back on the grid and generating electricity again, according to Entergy spokeswoman Laurne Burm.

The plant shut down during the blizzard a few weeks ago.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission conducted an inspection of the facility this week which concluded on Friday.

The plant started generating electricity Saturday afternoon at 2:40 p.m.

Burm said Pilgrim is continuing its investigation into winter storm Juno and is cooperating fully with the NRC.

An NRC report is expected to be released within the next 45 days.
