HYANNIS – A chaotic scene in Hyannis late Tuesday evening. According to reports, a vehicle nearly struck a Barnstable Police cruiser head-on around 10:15 PM. Police attempted to stop the vehicle but it crashed a short time later on St. Francis Circle. A small fire broke out in the vehicle. Hyannis Firefighters responded, extinguished the fire and evaluated several people at the scene. We’re checking with Barnstable Police for details on any charges that may be pending.
