New Secretary Of Energy And Environmental Affairs Named

BOSTON – Governor Charlie Baker swore in newly appointed Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs Kathleen Theoharides on Friday.

Secretary Theoharides joined the Baker-Polito Administration in 2016 as Director of Climate and Global Warming Solutions in the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, was promoted to Assistant Secretary, and most recently served as Undersecretary of Climate Change. 

Theoharides began her policy career working in Washington, D.C. at the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition and Defenders of Wildlife. 

Theoharides received a B.A. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Dartmouth College and Masters of Science in Ecology and Environmental Biology from University of Massachusetts-Boston
