HYANNIS – Hyannis Firefighters were alerted by an alarm to an apparent ammonia leak at the Hyannis Youth and Conference Center on Bassett Lane at 3:18 AM Friday. Hyannis Fire Captain Jeffrey Huska tells Cape Wide News when they arrived they discovered readings of 99 parts per million indicating a small leak. Firefighters and the rink supervisor donned protective breathing apparatus and were able to discover and isolate the leak. The area was ventilated and the problem fixed. There were no civilians at the rink at the time and no injuries were reported. Operations should be normal at the center today.
