HARWICH – The Family Pantry of Cape Cod is saying goodbye to its Executive Director.
Mary Anderson will be retiring this spring but will continue to work with the Pantry in a different capacity.
“I turn 66 in the fall and it’s just time to think about working a little less and spending a little more time with family and friends,” said Anderson.
Anderson has been Executive Director of the Pantry for 10 years.
The Harwich-based pantry, which has provided food and clothing to those in need since 1989, is now seeking a new Executive Director.
“The organization is healthier to have a new leader,” said Anderson. “We all develop our blind spots and I think that’s healthy for someone new to come in and take the pantry to the next level.”
Operating with a small paid staff and over 450 volunteers, the Family Pantry serves nearly 1,200 households per month.
