Updated: Driver seriously injured after pedestrian struck in shopping center parking lot in Orleans



ORLEANS – A pedestrian were reportedly struck by a car in Orleans about 3:30 PM Tuesday. The incident happened in the parking lot of the Skaket Corners shopping center on West Road. The driver reportedly suffered very serious injuries. The pedestrian was also transported to the hospital. Orleans Police called for crash reconstruction to the scene to investigate the collision.

From Orleans Police: On Tuesday May 13th, 2025 at 3:37 PM, Orleans Police and Fire were dispatched to 9 West Road, the Shaw’s supermarket parking lot for a report of 2 pedestrians struck by a motor vehicle. Upon arrival first responders found a female party on the ground suffering from serious injuries and a second victim who appeared to have non-life threatening-threatening injuries.

Upon preliminary investigation, it appears a vehicle was reversing from a parking space and accelerated into several parked vehicles, striking one pedestrian in the process. The second victim, a 77-year-old female and the sole operator of the vehicle suffered serious injuries and was transported to Cape Cod Hospital by members of the Orleans Fire Department. Her condition is unknown at this time. The collision is under investigation by members of the Orleans Police Department with the assistance of the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council Crash Reconstruction Team.
