Updated: Police say driver was under the influence at traffic collision that closed Bourne Bridge



BOURNE – A traffic collision closed the Bourne Bridge just after 9:30 PM Friday. Firefighters were using the Jaws of Life to free at least at one victim. Ambulances from Sandwich and Falmouth were called to the scene. One person was transported to St. Lukes Hospital trauma center in New Bedford. Two other victims were transported to Falmouth Hospital.

Southbound (on-Cape) lanes reopened at 10:40 PM. Shortly after 11 PM. all lanes were reopened. Mass State Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash.

On Saturday, Mass State Police reported the driver of the Ford F-250 identified as Garret Mullen, 37, of Lewiston, ME will face charges of Operating under the influence as well as illegal possession of a firearm. He is scheduled for arraignment in Falmouth District Court on Monday.
