HYANNIS – The CapeFLYER begins its fifth year of service when it operates its train service from Boston to Cape Cod starting Memorial Day weekend.
Starting on Friday, May 26, the CapeFLYER will run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until Labor Day.
During the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, the CapeFLYER will provide free service for active service members and veterans in partnership with the 13th Annual Troops in the Spotlight event led by Cape Cod Cares for the Troops.
“We’re looking forward and optimistic that we’re going to have another great summer,” said Cape Cod Regional Transit Administrator Tom Cahir. “We’ve seen an increase each year and we’re very pleased and optimistic this year that we’ll be successful as well.”
The CapeFLYER will also be working with ferry operators to provide convenient connections to and from Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard.
Cape Cod RTA buses are also available at Buzzards Bay and Hyannis to bring passengers to Cape communities.
Also, the CapeFLYER will be operating a café car that sells food and drinks, including beer and wine.
“We’re running a very efficient service and we’re helping a lot of people so that they don’t have to drive their cars down here,” said Cahir.
