D-Y Teacher Wins Science Educator of the Year

YARMOUTH – A local teacher has been recognized as one of the state’s Educators of the Year.

Sandra Locke was selected by the Massachusetts Association of Science Teachers as the Barnstable County recipient of the 2017 Science Educator of the Year Award. Locke is science teacher and STEM coach at the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District.

The honor is given to educators who have made significant contributions to the teaching of science in Massachusetts.

The criteria for the award includes taking a leadership role in advancing the quality of science education in Massachusetts and being an active member of a science teacher’s organization.
