“Contemporary Cape Cod Artists On Abstraction” is a new book by Deborah Forman.
OSTERVILLE – ‘Contemporary Cape Cod Artists: On Abstraction’ is the third book in a trilogy of monographs on the Cape art scene by arts journalist and fine artist, Deborah Forman.
Parallel to the release of each book, Miller White Fine Arts has created a series of curated art exhibits from selected artists.
For the latest book, Miller White Fine Arts has organized an exhibit at Osterville Village Library.
As a journalist covering the arts scene on Cape Cod for more than 30 years, Deborah Forman met hundreds of artists and learned about many others, all producing a variety of work in various mediums.
The Cape painters, sculptors and photographers in her previous two books looked to the world around them for inspiration. Often the work is geometrically based, structured, cool and thoughtful. Other works express a spontaneity that has an emotional center. Still others capture a figurative element in an otherwise abstract piece.
‘Contemporary Cape Cod Artists: On Abstraction Exhibit’ opens at the Osterville Village Library on September 18 with a reception for the public from 5 to 7 p.m.
On October 1 from 5 to 7 p.m., there will be an artist reception at the library with Deborah Forman followed by a gallery talk and book signing. Both events are free and open to the public.
