PLYMOUTH – The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy and the Whale and Dolphin Conservation held the first of two September fundraising expeditions yesterday.

Guests supporting the conservancy and conservation spotted three white sharks, multiple whale species and two ocean sunfish.

The conservancy is a Cape Cod based nonprofit committed to raising public awareness of white sharks and supports scientific research, improves public safety, and educates the community.

The conservation is a global charity dedicated to the conservation and protection of whales and dolphins, defending them against the threats they face through campaigns, lobbying, advising governments, science, and rescue.

The conservancy says there are still a few spots remaining on the last expedition on Saturday, September 19.

The expedition, which leaves from Plymouth on Plymouth Whale Watch vessel Son IV, departs at 8 a.m. and lasts until 6 p.m.

Attendees will be joined by experts in the field including Senior Biologist & Executive Director for Whale and Dolphin Conservation’s North American office Regina Asmutis-Silvia, John Chisholm from the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries and field naturalist and birder Peter Trull.
