HARWICH – The cost of higher education continues to increase and the Monomoy Dollars for Scholars program recently awarded scholarships to students in their second, third and fourth year of college.
The program allows support for students as many leave college after getting scholarships for the first year when they graduate high school and can’t afford subsequent years.
About 50 percent of students take time off from college to work and save money before going back and 30 percent of those students never return due to financial issues.

To support the Monomoy Dollars for Scholars program, which is open to any student resident in Harwich or Chatham, donations can be made online.
