WEST HARWICH – Several main roads in Harwich were closed after a gas leak in West Harwich. The incident happened at Stonewood Products on Depot Street around 8:15 a.m. The leak was reported by the meter on the building. Traffic was detoured off Depot Street, Great Western Road and Center Street in the area. Two adjacent businesses were evacuated. National Grid was called to the scene to shut off the gas and make repairs. The gas company was able to shut off the gas around 9:30 a.m. and roads were reopened shortly thereafter.
