John Kotfila’s funeral in Falmouth in 2016
FALMOUTH – It was almost one year ago that Hillsborough County Florida Deputy Sheriff and Falmouth native John R. Kotfila Jr. was killed after driving into the path of a wrong way driver on a Florida expressway to shield another driver from the impact.
And now his sister is entering law enforcement in tribute to her fallen brother.
According to FOX 13 News in Tampa, Florida, Katelyn Kotfila is in training to become a Hillsborough County Deputy.
She told the TV station that it was no surprise that her brother put his life in danger for someone else.
John Kotfila’s brother is a member of the Falmouth Police Department, while his father is a Massachusetts State Trooper.
