DENNIS – Barnstable Police report that during the month of June 2017, Detective Foley and Officer Phelan initiated a cocaine distribution investigation targeting Anthony Kelley and Donald Frye, both 21. The investigation involved undercover purchases of cocaine from the residence.
Det. Foley applied for and was granted a search warrant from Barnstable District Court for Kelley and Frye’s residence at 545B Main Street (Route 28) in Dennisport.
On Tuesday at approximately 11:00 AM, Barnstable and Dennis detectives established surveillance of the address in anticipation of executing the Search Warrant. At approximately 2:15 PM., Detectives observed Kelley exit his apartment and enter a vehicle. The vehicle was subsequently stopped by Detectives a short distance away and surveillance indicated that Frye and others remained inside the residence. At approximately 2:45 PM. Barnstable Police and Dennis Police Detectives made entry into the residence and executed the search warrant. Upon entry Detectives encountered Donald Frye and two other males.
The search resulted in the location and seizure of four bags of suspected cocaine in a backpack belonging to Kelley and an additional bag of suspected cocaine in a bedroom belonging to Donald Frye. The total weight of the cocaine that was located was approximately twenty (20) grams. Detectives also located a large amount of packaging materials, digital scales, cutting agents, and approximately $18,000 in cash seized from Kelley and from the residence.
Kelley and Frye were subsequently placed under arrest for Trafficking a Class B substance- (cocaine 18-36 grams), and Conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act. Kelley and Frye were transported to the Barnstable Police Department for booking. Both were arraigned on Wednesday in Orleans District Court and released on $500.00 bail.
