BARNSTABLE – Although 2016 broke travel records on Cape Cod, this year could be even busier for the region.
AAA Northeast predicts Americans will head to beach destinations in force this year. Their recent survey found that 42 percent of Americans are planning to take a vacation.
Travel experts have identified some common trends building among travelers this year, including visits to National Parks. The Cape Cod National Seashore is a part of that park system and is located centrally to some of the most-frequented Outer Cape towns.
Record numbers of travelers to Cape Cod were predicted for some of the busiest holidays in 2016, such as Independence Day, Labor Day and Thanksgiving.
