Annual HIV Primary Care Conference to be Held in Provincetown

HARWICH PORT – The New England AIDS Education and Training Center (NEAETC) and Outer Cape Health Services (OCHS) are hosting the Annual HIV Primary Care Conference on April 28 at the Provincetown Inn.

The conference will provide primary care providers, social workers and case managers with important, up-to-date information addressing timely topics in HIV medicine.

Registration is free and includes CME, CEU, and Social Work credits for respective participants.

Participants will have an opportunity to interact with expert NEAETC faculty and OCHS clinical staff, all highly experienced HIV providers in Massachusetts.

The conference will take place from 8:30am-4:30pm, with topics including:

  • What Every Primary Care Provider Needs to Know About HIV and Hepatitis
  • Strengthening HIV/HCV Treatment Programs in Community Health Centers
  • Providing Culturally Competent Care of Transgender and Sexual Minority Patients
  • The Challenges of Addiction and HIV Disease
  • STD Update for Primary Care Physicians
  • Building a PrEP Program within Primary Care Practice
  • Longitudinal Care of the HIV Long-Term Survivor

According to the NEAETC, “HIV no longer requires management solely by an Infectious Disease or HIV specialist. Advances in treatment have enabled most people to become stable and live with a chronic disease requiring monitoring that is similar to many chronic diseases managed by primary care providers.”
