‘Be Well Wareham’ Features Walk and Yoga Program this Month

WAREHAM – The “Be Well Wareham” initiative continues this month with a free program at the Gleason Family YMCA.

The initiative is a collaboration between Southcoast Health, the YMCA and Voices for a Healthy Southcoast to provide free wellness programs for area residents.

This month’s program on Saturday, June 24 features a wellness walk with Southcoast Health cardiologist Ashwini Sahni and will be followed by a yoga class. The walk begins at 9 a.m.

Brisk 30 minute walks every day can decrease the risk of several health problems, including heart disease, stroke and diabetes.

Participants will receive free health kits that include information on health and exercise. All ages and levels of walking ability are welcome to attend.

“Be Well Wareham” holds monthly walks, yoga, nutrition or other wellness programs on the fourth Saturday of each month at the Gleason Family YMCA at 9 a.m.

All programs are free and no registration is necessary.
