CENTERVILLE – The Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills fire department has a new rescue boat free of charge.
The boat was previously owned by the Coast Guard, and became excess property after the Guard’s station in Provincetown received new vessels.
C-O-MM Chief Michael Winn said that led to the boat moving from the Outer Cape to the Mid-Cape:
Winn said this boat is specifically designed for rescues, a change from their previous vessel. It also has an enclosed cab, making it a safer boat for rescue workers.
