According to Sgt. John Emerson, Capachione’s Ford Explorer was speeding down Pond Street when the vehicle went airborne crossing Loring Avenue before hitting a pine tree at 10:26 p.m.
Emerson said the vehicle hit the tree with enough force to snap the top of the tree off, which brought down secondary power lines.
The downed power lines went to 17 Loring Ave and the tree damaged the fence belonging to 23 Loring Avenue.
Capachione refused transport to the hospital and was treated for minor injuries at the scene by Dennis Rescue.
Along with the OUI, Capachione was charged with operating to endanger, speeding and failure to stop for a stop sign.
The roadway was closed for roughly two hours due to the downed power lines.
