Film Series in Mashpee to Feature Bogart, Hitchcock and Much More

MASHPEE – A film screening series to be held at the Mashpee Public Library will feature some classics over the next several weeks.

On February 27, Singin’ in the Rain, 1952, will be screened. The famous musical stars Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O’Connor.

On March 6th, it’s a black and white Brando drama entitled On the Waterfront from 1954.

The first of two Hitchcock suspense films will take place on March 13th, the first of which, Vertigo, unravels the mystery of a former detective who takes on one last case. It quickly turns out to be much more than he expected.

On March 20th, The Apartment will be screened. This 1960 Billy Wilder film stars Jack Lemmon, Shirley Maclaine and Fred MacMurray and was one of the very first to mix comedy, drama and romance into a gripping picture.

Finally, another Hitchcock film noted for stunning visuals will take place on March 27th. North by Northwest from 1959 stars Eva Marie Saint, Cary Grant and James Mason as their characters navigate through a case of mistaken identity.
