WELLFLEET – The International Fund for Animal Welfare responded to more dolphin strandings on Sunday.

For the third time in less than a week, a rescue team was on the Outer Cape, this time working to save 10 Risso dolphins that stranded in Wellfleet Harbor.

Crews initially tried to herd the dolphins back out the sea, but they continued to push into Chipman’s Cove.

A spokesperson for the Yarmouth Port-based organization said they were eventually hauled out of the water by rescuers and released at Corn Hill Beach in Truro.

IFAW crews rescued a dolphin from a beach in Eastham on Saturday, releasing it at Scusset Beach in Sandwich.

Last Wednesday, three dolphins were rescued from the shallow waters near Lieutenant Island in Wellfleet.
