Mashpee Police Chief Named as a Finalist for New Hampshire Job

Mashpee Police Chief Scott Carline .

MASHPEE – Mashpee’s police chief has been named as one of the six finalists for the same job in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

According to the Portsmouth Herald, Scott Carline made the final cut announced this week.

Carline and the five other candidates are expected to be in New Hampshire on Friday for interviews with city officials and community groups.

“I can confirm that I am a finalist for the Portsmouth Police Chief position.  This is in no way a reflection on the Town of Mashpee and I remain completely dedicated to my department and this town.  I have a tremendous amount of respect for the community leaders of Mashpee and this is just an opportunity to explore what could be a tremendous opportunity for me and my family.  Having said that there is still a long way to go in the process and from the other finalists I’ve seen this could be a very difficult endeavor,” said Carline in a statement to the CapeCod.com NewsCenter

Carline, who is originally from New Hampshire, was named Mashpee chief in 2015, replacing Rodney Collins who became Mashpee town manager.

Portsmouth officials are expected to pick their new chief early next week.
