HARWICH – Although prom season is several months away, an all-night party for Monomoy Junior Prom goers is already underway.
The party runs from 11 p.m to 5 a.m., and provides teens with a safe, substance-free environment.
“We do a bunch of entertainment,” said Nicole Moniz, After Prom Planning Committee member. “In the past they’ve done a hypnotist, a lot of inflatables, a movie room, a cash machine, so the kids really look forward to this.”
The committee is seeking financial donations to help fund the event, as well as contributions in the form of gift certificates, or items that would appeal to teens and to be used as door prizes, which will be handed out through the night.
The after prom party has been a tradition for two decades, and in the past organizers say the generosity of local residents and businesses has always made it a success.
Checks can be made out to Monomoy Regional School District Activities, with After Prom Committee as the notation.
Contributions should be sent to the After Prom Planning Committee at P.O. Box 1366, Harwich, MA 02645.
