Laurie Dooley-Corey says the Barnstable Sheriff’s Department has offered to help build the ramp for free at the end of September.
The Barnstable Disability Commission has donated $2500 towards the materials but Dooley-Corey is left with about $8500 to raise for their $11,000 goal.
She has opened a fundraising website and has raised $570 so far, with a month to go before the deadline.
That website is www.youcaring.com/looprampfunds2014 .
Dooley-Corey says that she has sent letters to lumber companies to see if they would donate materials but has not had much response.
She was hoping to have the ramp completed by this summer for residents to use, but says that if they can raise the money needed by the beginning of September, they can open the new ramp next summer.
