Recovering Champions Hosts Community Forum on Cape Cod

SANDWICH – Recovering Champions held a community forum on Wednesday night at Sandwich Town Hall to discuss the services and programs available across the Cape to help those with addiction issues.

The organization, which has substance abuse treatment facilities in Falmouth and Sandwich, held the event to help the public navigate the numerous services offered.

“A lot of times we hear that people don’t know where to reach out for help or that there’s help available close by and we wanted to bring a bunch of those community providers together,” said Recovering Champions CEO Ken Weber.

The organizations that attended the forum include Learn 2 Cope, Duffy Health Center and Gosnold on Cape Cod, and they had booths set up with more information on their services.

“We’re trying to spread the word on how to help families who are dealing with this with their loved ones and how to take care of themselves,” said Karen Anastasi with Learn 2 Cope.

The event also included a panel featuring members of the organizations, discussing their work in the substance abuse field.
