‘Starfish Trail’ Project Underway in Sandwich

SANDWICH – Residents and visitors in Sandwich will be seeing starfish everywhere they go this summer.

A Sandwich Arts Alliance project is underway that will bring together several local businesses and artists to create the Starfish Trail.

Twenty three-foot by three-foot fiberglass starfish will be decorated by different alliance artists and will be sponsored by businesses and individuals.

The starfish, which will all be unique, will be displayed in front of the sponsoring businesses and include a plaque will details of the piece, including its theme and artist.

The twenty artists have been chosen and all but two have been sponsored.

Family friendly events will be scheduled throughout the summer to drive visitors to the starfish locations.

All of the pieces will also be auctioned off during a special event at the end of the summer season.
