WAREHAM – Tobey Hospital in Wareham has been re-designated as a baby-friendly birth facility.
Baby-Friendly USA, Inc. recognized the hospital for offering mothers the information, confidence and skills needed to successfully begin breastfeeding their babies.
The organization is the U.S. authority for the implementation of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative, which is a global program sponsored by the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund.
The hospital is one of 404 facilities in the country and 20,000 worldwide recognized as baby-friendly by the organization.
