Wellfleet Town Meeting Voters to Decide on Operating Budget; New Firefighters

 

WELLFLEET – Wellfleet town meeting voters will make decisions on operating and capital budgets and money for recycling bins tonight.

The proposed budget for the fiscal 2018 year is $20.9 million, up slightly from the current $20.1 million spending plan.

The capital budget proposed for the town has been set at approximately $1.1 million.

Wellfleet residents will also decide on a $50,000 article that would pay for recycling bins at public locations, including the town’s beaches.

Another article seeks just over $147,000 to hire new two full-time firefighters.

Wellfleet town meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Wellfleet Elementary School.
