DENNIS – A call to the Dennis Fire Department Sunday at 6 p.m. of a vessel collision in Bass River near the Yacht Club turned out to be a boater who got himself stuck on a sandbar. Dennis Fire and the Harbormaster sent boats to help the stranded boater. The man along with a woman and a child were brought to shore while crews await the incoming tide to refloat the vessel. …Cape Cod’s channels, rivers, and inlets, are in a constant state of filling in with silt & sand. Dennis-Yarmouth should employ a dredging rig full-time in the off season to keep our waterways clear & open. Use the dredged sand to replenish beaches & marshlands. Do the same off West Dennis Beach. Adding a little depth to the water will attract more fish & make the beach 200 yards wide.
