BOURNE – The 102nd Intelligence Wing will recognize the families of their unit members with an event this weekend.
The wing’s annual Family Day is Sunday at Otis Air National Guard Base. Officials say this year’s event will carry extra meaning, as the base will soon be deploying its largest group of troops in nearly a decade.
The troops will serve around the world in a series of contingency operations. Officials say there will be extra emphasis placed on the families of deploying Airmen at the event.
A number of dignitaries will be in attendance, including Sandwich State Rep. Randy Hunt and Gary Keefe, the Adjutant General of Massachusetts.
A ceremony is also planned to introduce Zoe, the wing’s new therapy and morale dog.
