PROVINCETOWN – Provincetown Firefighters and Cape Cod National Seashore personnel were called to battle a brush fire Friday morning. The fire broke out a couple of hundred yards off the Provincelands bike trail not far from the Provincelands Visitor Center. Crews positioned an engine on the bike trail and then had to run hoses some distance to reach the scene. The fire was quickly knocked down but firefighters remained on scene checking hot spots and wetting down the area. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
