OSTERVILLE – The Osterville Village Library will host a speaker next week who will share her story as a caregiver.
According to the National Alliance for Caregiving, 65.7 million Americans during the past year served as family caregivers for an ill or disabled relative.
On Thursday at 5 p.m., Peggy Bushy will discuss her book, “Lewy, Mom and Me, A Caregivers Story,” how she learned to accept the changes in her mother and how she supported her emotionally as she grappled with her frightening illness.
Bushy will also describe what caring for her mother entailed, first at home, then in long-term care, and finally in hospice.
The free event is part of a health care series of discussions which include Understanding Senior Living Options on October 12 and When is Memory Care Needed on October 19.
