BREWSTER – At about 5:10 PM Sunday, Brewster Fire-Rescue and Police were dispatched to Tubman Road opposite Griffiths Pond Road for a report of an MVC with unknown injuries. Further information indicated a car into a pond or marsh with the driver still in the car. Rescue crews encountered a vehicle that had plunged through heavy brush and trees into a marshy area with a female driver still trapped in the vehicle. Firefighters and Police made their way down to the vehicle and began evaluation and treatment to the injured driver, as well as starting extrication to remove her from the damaged car. The patient was placed on a backboard and carried up the steep banking to a waiting stretcher and transported to CCH via Brewster ambulance with unknown injuries. Tubman Road was shut down in both directions while the scene was worked and the vehicle could be removed by a wrecker. Brewster Police are in charge of the investigation.
