Halloween Candy Willpower

Confession – I have zero willpower for Halloween candy.

It’s true, every year as I buy the most colossal bag of Halloween candy imaginable and swear to myself that I’ll stay out of it – inevitably this is always the end result. Dang! Now I have a week to go and an open bag of Halloween candy.

Some years I try to wait until the very last minute to buy the candy and that doesn’t work either, your stuck with picked over candy offerings. Occasionally, I try to hide the bag or have my husband hide it, but you just cant keep a woman away from chocolate in her house. I swear, I develop super-human olfactory senses and can sniff that chocolate out. I’ve tried the old ‘buy the candy you don’t like trick’, but then I’m just stuck with gross candy that I end up throwing away, because SURPRISE, no one likes it. Pretzels or snack chips were a give-out one year, but the disappointed looks on Trick-or-Treater’s faces at the door quickly turned me back to candy or more important – chocolate – the next year.

Even the years that I’m good and resist the pre-Halloween temptation the old ‘raid the kid’s stash after they go to bed’ monster hits. That’s how I get through that 3pm hour afterall…

Happy Halloween! Think I might have to looking into the Dennis Police 5K Halloween Hustle to burn off some of my favorite fun-sized treats!
